It’s about you. It’s about me. It’s about the everyday and everywhere.
We’ve raised the prospect of “making a difference” to the loftiest of goals - almost unattainable I would say. When celebrities with deep pockets advertise their foundations, charities, schools and the like, it’s easy to underestimate the impact and importance of more modest efforts.
But it’s vital to remember that it’s within the reach of each one of us today to make a positive impact and I would argue it is our obligation to do so.
Here are a few things that you can do now, that won’t cost you anything and will make someone smile. It may even restore someone's faith in humanity.
- Say please and thank you and mean it
- Smile at strangers
- Let someone in your lane
- Babysit for a friend with kids
- Donate blood
- Let someone ahead of you in line
- Donate old clothing
- Call an old friend
- Pick up litter on the street
- Write a love letter to your partner
