Remember that feeling you would get as a kid the night before Christmas? It was everything I could do to fall asleep knowing that Santa would be in my very living room as I lay just upstairs. I hoped I had been good enough to get some of the gifts I had awaited for months.
It’s that wonderful anxious feeling I experience now before embarking on a much-anticipated adventure. This one has required a lot of preparation and is especially complex in the emotional and physical demands it will ask of me. I expect it will be challenging, beautiful, rewarding and unpredictable all at the same time.
I am leaving with some trepidation as I know I will be forever changed. All for the better, I hope. I look forward to sharing my new learnings and observations on my return, but until that time, wish me luck!
